Halloween 2016

Costumes at school brought on a whole new level of morning stress at our house.  Gracie's Disgust wig didn't work out at the last minute, and luckily she was mature enough to switch costumes at the last second, going as a soccer player.  Phew!  Crisis experienced and then averted.  I was proud of her for being flexible!

Micah and I got to volunteer at the kids' parties, because Halloween was on a MONDAY this year.  (Teachers around the planet shudder...the last few years we've lucked out with end-of-week candy-filled holidays).  I kept busy that afternoon, shuttling Micah to both the kids' classrooms.  He was greatly loved by his siblings!!!

Here's the gang from Inside Out:  Fear, Disgust, Sadness, Anger, and Bing Bong.  Darling.

Granny and Pappy were happy to have these crazy trick-or-treaters come visit them.

Girl Awake!

Kaitlyn got us all tickets to go to Girl Awake!  It was a theater production performed by teenage girls from CDA that talked about issues today that surround girls in our culture.  Kaitlyn was asked to host a World Relief booth during intermission, and was given a few free tickets, so she thought of Grace.  It was so fun--and creative and meaningful!

Red Robin, first, of course.  Then on to Auntie's Bookstore where Grace got to experience the strong indecision in spending a book store gift certificate.  (her mom and dad have started this club, "So Many Books, So Little Time...)

On the walk back to the car we spotted Gracie's NARWHALS!!!  We had to get this pic!

Meanwhile, back at the DUDE RANCH...guess what the boys did without us...

Josh's Field Trip to the Arboretum

It rained so much!!!  Jeff was the champion parent, giving his morning, his gloves, and his leaf selecting expertise.

Linnea's is TWO DOZEN!!!

Linnea turned 24 on October 13, 2016.  We were happy to celebrate her...dinner, dessert, and a birthday banner consisting of 24 Linnea pictures.
