First year of preschool...in the books!

Micah thrived in his first year of preschool at Colbert Co-op.  He loved the art projects and outside play time.  :)  He's a bright kid, often put with the older kids for activities.  His best buddy is Travis and he enjoys Clayton and Boyd as well.

Our son, Hacim.  We'll tackle left-to-right next year.  :)

 Flowers are loving MAY.

And the WEDDING CLOTHES arrived today!  We can't wait for Linnea and Colin to wed!

Waiting for Grace and Josh

We pick up the kids from school on certain days...and Micah hangs out the window until he sees them walking down the sidewalk.  Then he runs out to greet them.  Super cute.

Caba Showbana on Memorial Day

This is the picture Mom sent of the chairs that they were refinishing for Dad's 50th HS Graduation party.  It's the same day as Colton's HS graduation and a wedding, so there was a chair shortage in the Colton area.  So Mom and Dad picked up these chairs that Papa LeRoy had purchased for family events--which were being stored outside Marty's shop for years.  Long story short, they were going to spray paint a whole bunch of these chairs for their reunion.  When Heidi and Judy found out about this the day before at Gracie's party, they were shocked that Mom and Dad couldn't find an easier way to get chairs!  So Mom sent me these pics and I passed them along to Heidi to keep her flabbergasted.  :)
Jen and Kevin invited us up to the lake for Memorial Day!  It was such a fun time!  Lots of lakeside lounging, burgers, and water play.

After a weekend of birthday-ing and a day of sunshine, we found Grace wiped out on the couch that night!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Gracie Girl

Grace's birthday was on a SUNDAY this year, and she woke to open her presents before church...

...one of her presents was a scavenger hunt that led her to...

...the iPad that was ringing!  Auntie Julie was on the other end of the FaceTime call, where she had Grace pick her present behind door number 1, 2, or 3.  Luckily Grace picked door number ONE, which told her that we were traveling to MAUI for her birthday this summer!  Grace was quietly excited, wondering what would've happened if she picked door 2 or 3!  We'd been keeping a secret since AUGUST of last year, so we were excited to come clean with this present!

Friends and family came over in the afternoon for her party!  Memorial Day was the next day, so we felt free to PARTY!

A decade of parenting.  I feel like we should know more by now...

One last look...at SINGLE DIGIT GRACE.

Tomorrow she'll be 10...

Gardner Caves and Boundary Dam...then The Little (Birthday) Mermaid

We needed an outing on our 3-day weekend, so Jeff instigated a trip up to Garnder Cave, a cave that his co-worker, Carol, told him about.  We snagged Kai to go with us, and enjoyed our day seeing new places.  The cave was impressive, to say the least.  The kids will always remember the packrat nest, the dripping stalactites, and the musty smell of that underground space.

From the caves, you can walk a kilometer down the path into CANADA.  The kids were SUPER impressed about how Canada felt so different from the US.  :)
