Reflection on 2021

2021 has come to a close.  It was also filled with transitions--back to school with masks in the fall, I started a new teaching position, Jeff got to be at MMS with the big kids.  But it was a good one!  Filled with sweet togetherness with friends and family after a year of keeping our distance.  We were filled with sadness when Papa LeRoy passed away this year, but overjoyed to welcome little Nolan Thomas to the family. Brooke & Eddy got engaged, we got to see Kaitlyn and Colin & Linnea, and we got to experience Salmon la Sac with Julie. Grace picked up piano again, Josh got braces and found the trombone, and Micah started playing on a developmental soccer team. We are excited to see what 2022 will bring!

What are you doing New Year's?

We sent 2021 out pretty uneventfully...there was some lego-ing, some gift exchanging, some C&L presents arriving...and then on New Years Eve we went over to the Van Sickles for EPIC BUNCO!!!  We had dice and prizes and LOTS of laughter.  We'll have to do that again next year!!! Matt lit some kind of fireworks off the deck at midnight--eeek!  A wild way to welcome in 2022!

The Farm Christmas

We had such a great time being together at the farm this year!  We celebrated on 12/27 and spent the whole day together--opening gifts, drinking Tom & Jerry's, snacking on salsa and ceviche, and then eating crab/ham and Karen's potatoes.  Dad made me a bicycle yard fan!  It's amazing!  Ben had Jeff's name and got him a table saw.  Other than gifts, Nolan was THE GIFT that we kept passing around.

Merry Christmas!!!

We had to say goodbye to Phil last night, but we woke to Santa presents in the tree, so he must've taken back a good report!  The biggies this year from Santa: Wicked and Hamilton tickets!!!  Wahoo!  March and May fun to look forward to.  Books, clothes, and legos were hot this year...

We had breakfast casserole, drank coffee, put legos together, and relaxed all day...then Drew & Annie invited us over for dinner so we got to see the Lochheads in the evening.  It was a great day!
