Memorial Day Weekend, 2021

This weekend started with a boys' trip (with Matt and Kai) to go fishing in Cheney and to bike down Kamiak Butte.

Meanwhile, the girls were camping with G'ma and Papa...and we were getting pictures!

On Sunday, we took the boys to Priest Lake first, to see Auntie Julie and her family--where we tried out her paddle board!--and after spending the day with them, we headed to Riley Creek to pick up Grace and Janie.

G'ma and Papa had a great site with the girls...and they made so many fun memories!  We took the girls home with us, as they didn't have the space to bring everything (and everyONE) home the next day.

At home we set up hammocks and I figured out what trees we have in our backyard: a beech tree, a vine maple, a fruitless olive...

Grace Turns THIRTEEN...

Grace's birthday was on a Thursday this year.  We had presents before/after school and went to Red Robin for her bday dinner with the V's.  She did NOT want to be serenaded by RR staff, but...alas, they're too good!

On Friday afternoon we had a NOT-A-PARTY gathering for our girl.  She doesn't like attention, so we had something low-key.  It wasn't a party, if you're wondering.  A gathering! She was surprised by getting a paddle board...and after the party, she and Janie left directly with G'ma and Papa to go camping at Riley Creek!  We love this sweet girl, and know that she'll just get better with each teenage year...

The Last Pic of 12-Yr Old Grace...

Isn't she the cutest!  Does she turn teenager-terrible tomorrow? Nah....

To the Farm!

Micah had a great LAST GAME with his Rec 90+ team!  We really liked this team for him...

And as soon as the game was over, we took off for the farm!  We had wanted to paint the house for G'ma Joan as a birthday gift, but Papa had Covid in April, so we postponed the work trip.  This weekend seemed to be the perfect fit.

First, we took out overgrown shrubs in the front of the house.  Easy, peasy!

And the next day we painted the garage's south and east sides.  The little section on the roof took Jeff FOREVERRRRR.

The finished work looked SO GOOD!!! We were quite happy with the outcome and went home quite arm-sore.  :)
