For Grace's birthday, we went to North Lake RV Park and Campground, in Kettle Falls. G'ma Colleen and Papa Scott had found this place the last time they were up and shared it with us! Auntie Debbie had been wanting to camp, and Randy has been busy fixing up the house for Pablo & Madison, so she came up for a night with us. Grace and Janie stayed in G'ma and Papa's trailer, as this was their (2nd year) tradition trip for G's birthday.
The first night was Grace's ACTUAL BIRTHDAY so we opened presents and had s'mores for her birthday dessert.
On Saturday we took a bike ride on the Ferry County Rails-to-Trails pathway along Curlew Lake. It was 10 or 11 miles total, there and back. We got to see lots of water and trees and birds...turtles were our favorite! We ate lunch at the end of the trail and then turned around to go back to the truck. The wind on our return trip was intense! Josh wasn't feeling well, and in the last mile he just melted and couldn't make it home. This was the first sign that he was REALLY not feeling well, when he got back to the trailer he collapsed and watched movies the rest of the day and night. As the weekend went on, Micah started to feel sick, then eventually Grace and I fell sick as well! When we got home, we all stayed home from school on Tuesday (except Jeff) and Janie went to the doctor to find out she had Influenza A. It kept three of us home three days that week! Cough and fever and...yuck!
The girls made dirt for dessert, complete with gummy worms.
From here on out, we'll be taking medicine with us on camping trips! :)
