Summer Fun with Friends

Josh had a great week at camp.  His counselors were Kai and Greg, and his cabin mates were Eli and Carter Mikelson. He says his favorite part was worship!

That afternoon we had Templins and Edmondsons over for summer fun.  We took pictures to send to the Schneringers to let them see that we were finally able to gather across town when it wasn't a Schneringer weekend.  Lydia was at camp, too, so it was fun to hear the big kids talk about Spalding and the stories.

 

The Week Josh (and Grace) Went to Camp

On Sunday we dropped Josh off at camp, saw Grace with the work crew, and then Micah's week as an only child BEGAN...

...cue POTTERY, SWIMMING LESSONS, JAM MAKING, EATING ON THE PORCH, AND PLAYING CARDS WITH GG AT FIZZIES. A dreamy existence.

Jeff's turn with Covid

He wasn't so bad, probably at his worst when we were at Crater Lake. Josh wanted to go out to Gavin's lake place, and they didn't mind being outside with a Covid-Guy, so we took Josh up to spend an overnight with Gavin before he took off for camp.  What fun!

And then Grace started packing for her week at Josh's camp doing work crew.  She's staying out in the tents, so Jeff gave her advice on what to wear while sleeping to keep the mosquitos away:

Crater Lake Vacay--DAY FIVE AND SIX--Toketee Falls Hike and Lake Play...then home

Toketee Falls has been on Jeff's hiking list for a long time, so we made sure to do it! It was a wide hike in, and the end was on a platform overlooking the falls.  All of the pictures that we've seen of the falls were from right beside it, but the trek down was SO incredibly steep, and all the signs said to stay on the trail, so we were a little disappointed, but enjoyed our time walking together.

Then we went to find some water to use those paddleboards!  We found a campground with an outlet to the lake, so we spent the afternoon playing in and beside the water. Auntie and Grace are happiest in the water...Nessa is NOT.  :)

 

More games and more ice cream to end our last night together. What a fun trip!

We dropped off Julie at home--after a long drive back!--and Jeff was determined to get to Indaba with the trailer.  So here we were, and I sent Julz a pic.  Annnnnd, then....when we got home, Jeff took a Covid test and turned out it was positive.  So this was the Auntie Vacation where we gave her Covid. Sigh.
