A Week at the Farm--Painting, Millie Time, and 4th of July

Dad asked us if we could help paint his house this summer, so we planned on going down to the farm before the 4th to get it done...it just so happened that those days were the HOTTEST days of the summer, thus far, AND it was the week that Millie was staying, too.  Ben & Kelly were in Alaska for a visit, so we thought it was perfect timing to get some Millie loves in!

On our second day of painting, the Morrow girls came up to help.  These four were so good at entertaining each other that G'ma hardly saw them!  Brooke was a big help inside with Mills...

Sam was an amazing help the 2nd day of painting...

I thought we could paint the house in two days...Dad looked at me like, "Are you insane?" when I mentioned this.  He was right--we ended up taking the 4th off and then painted one more day on the 5th.

Here are the cousins at the Johnson Parade, 2013.

They got to ride in the back of Papa's Gator...

...while Papa drove his wife around in his midlife crisis!  :)

Katie and I were on Millie Duty.  :)

They got some great comments from their signs--and the car!

Connor even got in on the parade.  He had the chicken brake covered.  :)

After the parade, we all came to Mom's for a picnic and the Lochheads discovered that we all love to play baseball.

Fireworks in Clarkston!

Josh waved the flag...the fireworks left him whimpering with his hands over his ears, but he survived!

And then we finished painting the deck the next day...

Clothespinning is seriously a lost art.  :)

Spiderman!

Jeff's Adventures

In between hiking and his conference, Jeff went on a hike and came back with amazing pictures...

Super Josh

Linnea taught Josh how to tie blankets around his neck to be capes.  His life hasn't been the same since.

To the Farm when Daddy is Gone

The last weekend of June Jeff took off to go rafting with Brock for his bachelor party and then to Seattle for an AP Psychology training.  He was gone for seven whole days, so we scurried to the farm for the first weekend without him.

It was a quieter weekend at the farm--Katie's family was in Seattle for a soccer tournament and Ben's family was in Warden for the weekend.  So Mom and I took the kids into Moscow on Saturday morning to the Farmer's Market.  They loved playing at the playground, eating the season's first cherries (and an orange roll that Mom and G'ma couldn't resist!) and then they were determined to get special balloons, so they waited...

 ...and waited...

...and waited in line.  Finally it was their turn and they chose...

 ...BUTTERFLY HATS!

On the way home, we stopped at Davy's to pick his strawberries.  It was pretty muddy from the week's rain, but that didn't stop JOSH. (Love the crack shot!)

 He was a great picker!

On Sunday we went to church with G'ma and Papa, then we stopped by to see Tom.  He's at home now and hospice is coming in to help.  It was so good to visit with him and Diane.  Dad and I stayed to visit while Mom walked the kids to the park to play.

It was a great way to start out our week without Daddy--we headed home Sunday for the next week of swimming lessons!
