Micah Turns THREE

Micah turned THREE this year and we celebrated with family and friends on Saturday, 3/19.  Micah loves TRACTORS, so of course wheels and dirt covered his birthday table.  Jeff also got donuts-the-size-of-our-heads from Casual Friday.  It was such a fun morning!

 He was quite excited.

All of the cousins were here...and many grandparents--including PAPPY, who walker-ed in through the garage, but minus G'ma Joan and Papa Greg, as he'd just had neck surgery in Seattle.  Papa made sure that Micah got his tractor gift, though, sending Uncle Ben on a mission to get a John Deere tractor and plow for the b-day boy.

Today is MY BIRTHDAY PARTY day!

Micah helped me make the DIRT for his party before he got dressed...

These STRAWS broke the camel's back...at the MAC!

While Mom was gone for three days, fun Daddy took the kids to the Egypt exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Culture downtown.  And I think they ate cereal for a few meals...

Craft Fair with Julz

Julie and I decided to do a NOVEMBER craft fair this year instead of the DECEMBER one.  Veteran's Day was a Friday this year, so I got to head down to Julie's on a Thursday...we crafted all day Friday...and then we did the craft fair on Saturday!  It was such a fun time!  This year, Julie's friend, Gabby, joined us in our crafting.  It was fun having a third person working in the Elf Shop.

Fall PKU Appointment

The day before Veteran's Day, I got the kids out early to go to their bi-annual PKU appointment downtown.  I worked for a half day, while G'ma Colleen got the kids off to school and then we met up at Rosauers to get some goodies for our favorite PKU team that flies into Spokane from Seattle two times a year.  The kids were bummed to be pulled out of school--how long will that feeling last?--but were great kids at their appointments and enjoyed THE SCOOP afterwards.

Nay-Nay

We love having Linnea living with us this fall.  She's extremely busy with her crazy number of credits and research and such, but she's always taking time to interact with our kids--whether it's morning hugs or letting kids interrupt her studies downstairs ("Nea! Can I come down?") or on this day, when I had an appointment and she took Micah along with her for a couple of hours.  He felt so special on his strider on campus.

Of course they went to the coffee shop.

And this one's too cute to not include.  His own laptop, low on batteries, making horrid noises that make him laugh.  Complete with crossed ankles.

Granny Snuggles

Cookies.  Books.  Granny snuggles.  This makes my heart so happy.

Micah and I try to go see Granny and Pappy on my days off, if just to distract them from the day-to-day struggles that have become their norm.  Some days with Pappy are good, and he's in the chair, others aren't and he's in the bed.  He visits as best he can...often I say, "It's so good to see you, G'pa!" and he replies, "It's good to be seen."  I miss his regular spunk.
