Papa LeRoy...

Today my Papa LeRoy passed away.  Mom called to tell me during the day, and we decided not to mention it to Micah, since it was his birthday.  But after he went to bed, Katie and I FaceTimed Mom so that she could tell us all about the day, and only have to do so once.  

She told us that Papa had gone to the bathroom during a Price Is Right commercial and G'ma went to check on him when he didn't come back.  He was on the floor, asked for a pillow, and G'ma called Marty for help.  By the time Marty got there, he helped the EMTs try to revive Papa, but he was gone.

Papa passed four days before his and G'ma's 75th Wedding Anniversary.  We are so happy that they'd already been celebrating all month, as we put an announcement in the paper early in the month. Divine intervention, in my mind.  He was so excited about that anniversary.  Also, G'ma had just taken him to Mass to have the priest bless him, and then she had Marty take a picture of them all dressed up.  That was just two days before he passed.

Although his quality of life was so low, and we know he's in a better spot, it's so hard to say goodbye.

 

Micah's Day

Micah had a Monday birthday this year.  He woke to an activity watch and new shoes...and pancakes!  Dad had taken the whole week of Thanksgiving off to get stuff done, so he got to go with us to school drop off.  And that night, Micah picked Olive Garden to dine at with the V's.  It was a sweet day to turn EIGHT.

November Birthday Party

Since we were going to miss Thanksgiving with the Lochheads, we asked to throw a November Birthday Party a few days early.  Look at these sweet November gifts to our family!  :)

 

Micah Turns EIGHT

After a couple of years of Covid-birthdays, we were anxious to have a gathering for Micah...it was so nice to meet some of his classmates, and we got to see cousins and teammates.  Micah seemed to have a great time with the Nerf Guns at the 90+ indoor field.  We can't believe he's EIGHT.

 

Nolan Thomas Moser

Look who joined our family today!!!  Nolan Thomas, we've been waiting for you!!!  Such a perfect little guy...Micah's birthday bestie! So grateful for this boy.

November Feels

Nessa went in for a cut...so we took some cute furry pics beforehand so we could spend the next three weeks regretting her cut.

We picked up Maisy from the boarding vet a day early so that she wouldn't have to stay until Monday, Katie and the fam were coming home later that night.  Micah was NOT impressed with her smell.  She was happy to go home, family there or not! 

Kai came over to play Catan, we put up Micah's birthday table, and the youngest Lochhead found Dogman.
