Johnnyswim in Portland!

Jeff bought me Johnnyswim tickets for my birthday back in February, and our weekend away to Portland was such a needed relief!  The end of the year was pretty stressful--with the normal teacher stuff but the added layer of Jeff's school closing--and it was nice to get away to have fun together.  We did the normal Portland things...stayed downtown, saw a great parade, went to Powell's, Salt & Straw, and Linnea's old apartment.  Johnnyswim was AWESOME!  We sat up in the balcony and they performed with a lot of energy.  Very worth it.  Even if I had to wear my glasses starting this week.

Mom and Dad watched the kids and they were completely spoiled!  We dropped off and picked up in Colfax.  They had a great time, too!

Mead Alternative--This is It!

Not a lot of words on this one.  Mead Alternative's last graduation.  Jeff spoke the closing:  This is It!  What a hard spring this was to endure through.  So many layers...

At Home Piano Recital

Sarabeth and Joel got a surprise this spring:  a baby boy!  They had just a day's notice that a brand new baby needed a home and WHAMMO! there came a baby.  Sarabeth suspended her piano studio for the time being, so that she could focus on being a mom to Brandon and Avie.  SO...we were getting ready for a recital when all of this happened, so we asked the Gaines Family (who took lessons with us!) to come over for an informal recital.  It was so nice to see them again!  We are hoping that SB is able to continue lessons in the future, for our kids have done so well with her teaching!

Colin and Anna's Wedding

Colin asked Jeff to be an usher in his wedding, so we decided to go down to Costa Mesa to spend the weekend celebrating with them.  It was a crazy time to leave, but they were so grateful to have Jeff there.  Colin described Jeff as someone God placed in his life at the right time.  They were both so intentional and thoughtful with their friends and family.  It was a pleasure to be included.  Megan and Jeff also live in Costa Mesa--score!--so I got to hang out with them while Jeff was doing rehearsal duty.  It was a beautiful wedding celebrating a beautiful couple!
