Tricky Mom

Tuesday Morning is a store that we've fallen in love with.  So after a McDonald's lunch play date with our friends, Patricia, Emma, and Ashlan, we decided to just go LOOK at the items in the store.

Of course, we want ALMOST everything we see...so what does a smart mom with a smart phone do?

"Let's take a picture of you with your favorite item and then we can put it on your Christmas list!"  American materialism at its finest!  Sigh.

Gracie's Field Trip to Green Bluff

Both kids had field trips on my Thursdays off this year, so I was lucky enough to tag along!  Gracie went to Hidden Acres with her Kindergarten class--and here she is with her field trip buddy, Yeva.  Gracie cracks me up because she is so somber during new routines.  The first few pictures show her concentrating on following directions--she helped guide kids out the door to the bus who weren't paying attention.  :)

Kindergarten teachers don't get paid enough.  :)  Mrs. B was getting all organized while her kids were waiting patiently in the grass, parents surrounding them.

And boy, were there a lot of parents!  :)

Mrs. Badeaux got to be the volunteer to get her apple polished--on her back!  A great massage!  :)

Gracie and Cody posing in the farmer-pitchfork cut-out.

And here's the whole class!  All 20 of them.  Gracie can name them all.

Here she is again with her pumpkin-the-size-of-her-head!

It was a fun day to see Gracie in her new element!  She is loving Kindergarten!

Some days they just REEK of cuteness...

This is Joshy--all ready for picture day at preschool!

And this is Gracie carrying around her "Pumpkin-the-size-of-her-head"
on her field trip--more field trip pics to come!

Baby Peanut's Shower

Jen and Ang were sweet enough to host a family baby shower for Little Lochhead #3 and me...it was such a fun afternoon to celebrate the new little one that is going to join our family!

Gracie was excited to have all of her girl cousins in one spot (minus Brookie!  She was definitely missed!)  Millie wasn't so excited to be confined...love the look that Lauren is giving her.  :)

Jen had us play the "My Water Broke" game by melting ice cubes in baggies--inside the ice cube each of us had a little plastic baby!  The grandmas really got into this game!  G'ma Trudy's water broke first!

And there were lots of baby gifts...

G'ma Dorothy made this darling frog quilt...

...Mom finally handed down this long-stitch picture that hung in our nursery growing up...

...G'ma Colleen made fun camping blankets for the babe...

...and G'ma Trudy crocheted this blanket and hat.

And there were onesies and binkies and booties and diapers and wipes galore!  We were so spoiled!

What a fun afternoon to celebrate this little boy!  We don't know what day he'll come or what his name will be, but we know he'll be DIAPERED, CLOTHED and LOVED.  And that's enough for now!  :)

TESL (Templin / Edmondson / Schneringer / Lochhead) Reunion

We were so happy to have Troy and Lauren come to Spokane for the weekend!  They stayed with us during the Whitworth Homecoming celebration and we had many fun hours of togetherness.

Calzone night is the long-lasting tradition, which started in the days when Troy and Lauren would host college friends Joel and Jeff.  We've grown a few more mouths to feed since those days...what fun!  I love that even little Anna got in on this picture!

The kids had so much fun playing together.  It was so fun to see them enjoy each other.  Oh, yeah--I think Jeff was the biggest kid!

Zoe was quite excited about Jeff.  She kept finding him...and it didn't bother Jeff one bit!  :)

Green Bluff has been another tradition of the reunion weekend.  Knapps is our farm of choice--punkin' chunkin', goats, donkeys, and...

 ...the hay pit!

We had such a fun time reuniting with these friends.  Our new favorite thing is to see our kids enjoy each other too!  It's been a couple of weeks since the visit and we are still mentioning Caleb, Ali and Zoe in our conversation...

Joshy's Green Bluff Field Trip

I lucked out and had a day off on the day when the preschool went to the Harvest House for their Green Bluff field trip!  We got up there a smidge early after dropping Grace off at Kindergarten, so we splurged on one of Joshy's favorites:  cinnamon rolls!

That Kai Guy is Joshy's best buddy!  They ran around the pumpkins, Kai trying to convince Joshy that the inflatable ghost was okay to punch.  I love boys.

And here is that lovely Mimi.  Gracie asked me one day why I called her Judy.  :)

We FALL for this season every year...

Even Daddy flips his calendar and smiles as October greets us with colder air and colored leaves!

Sunday School Superhero

This is Joshy's favorite part of Sunday School...the Superhero costumes!  :)
