And so we fled to the farm.
I knew Ben was harvesting at Greg Druffel's place, so we drove through Colton on our way home and I gawked out the window looking for him. When I spotted him on the top of the hill, I called to say, "I see you!" He said, since I was close, could I come get the lunches to take back to Mom for him? :) LOVE to be helpful! I drove over and we got to see the Silver Seeder cutting up close. The kids were told to stay in their seats...and they were not to breathe on any farmers. So instead, Joshy took a selfie of his SNAGGLE TOOTH.
And it was a good thing he DID take the picture, because he lost it shortly after! His second tooth, gone. G'ma Joan helped him set up the tooth-in-water-in-a-cup trick that I remember doing as a kid...but later that night when he wanted to show his tooth to Papa, we realized that G'ma had DONE THE DISHES, and she'd emptied the cup and put it in the dishwasher! Luckily, Mother Ellie was very good at identifying teeny-tiny lost teeth, and found it in the sink drain. Crisis averted!

Being sick at the farm meant lots of NAPPING. I found this preciousness upon waking from my nap.
Gracie scored finger puppets, nail polish stuff, a dolly carrier, a copy of Beverly Cleary's RIBSY, and a Nerf bow. No bee stings for her.
I scored a few treasures myself...and stocked up on future clothes for Micah.
Micah's big score was the CAR. Best $2 I ever spent.
Saturday night I got to meet up with friends from high school! I knew Jodie and Jillann were going to be there, but Jodie said she had a surprise guest coming...it was Brandon! We were all close friends in high school. It was so fun to catch up over dinner. We used to watch movies at each other's parents' houses...now we're the parents. My, how time flies.
Abby came over and wanted to bake with G'ma Joan. The peach pie was delish!
And before I left for home with the kids, I had to stop out in the field one last time to get a ride in the combine with Ben. Harvest didn't really happen if I didn't get a combine ride. I enjoyed chatting with brother Ben for his last round of the evening. I even got to see Levi out there, managing from the 4-wheeler. It was a SUPER late night going home with the kids, but such a nice visit. Just what a mama of 3 sick kids needed!
