We knew she had to go and live out the rest of her exciting life, but the day we left for work and school, knowing that Linnea was driving away to Portland was a SAD DAY. She dropped off the kids at school and took off midday. But one of the lovely things about Linnea is that she always leaves on trips later than she aims--mainly because she's writing a birthday card to someone to deliver before leaving. And this time, she was busy making each of our kids picture memory books that told them what she loved about each one. Talk about a tearful evening!
For the days and weeks to follow, we thought of how blessed we were to have such close time with Linnea--every time Micah called down the stairs, "NNNNNEA!!!" and we drove up to the house looking for her car at the curb. And as time has passed, we've loved hearing about her updates and visiting with her on the phone. She is now in a cute downtown Portland apartment and is the nanny to one sweet, lucky baby girl, until her life's next chapter...
