Gracie's Granny Quilt

Granny made Gracie a quilt for her new room!  She'd been working on it for quite some time, as Pappy's health was frail in the past year, but she was excited to have help finishing it so that she could give it to Grace.  Of course, Grace was thrilled!

And so we began our SEVENTH YEAR of job-sharing.  A fairly uneventful start to the year--thankfully!--although we are already mourning our sweet class of 23 from last year...

August Teacher Days = Farm Time with Gma and Papa

We love to have G'ma Joan retired!  When Jeff and I had to go back to work for meetings, we asked if the kids could hang out at the farm for a couple of those days.  The kids LOVED it!

Jeff and I got to go away for a couple of nights!  Kaitlyn offered to watch our kids so we could go somewhere, so we took her up on it!  Everywhere we looked to go was booked and/or too far to go for a quick couple of nights, so we ended up staying in the Davenport Tower for two nights.  We acted like downtown people, going to dinner and playing games at Uncles a couple nights in a row, and we spent Saturday hiking the Rocks of Sharon, just south of Spokane--a place we LOCALS hadn't yet hiked.  It was DREAMY.
