Micah's Days

On Mommy/Micah Mondays we usually go to see Granny.  On this particular Monday, Granny invited us to a PEO coffee right across the street at Thomas Hammer.  Loved seeing Micah surrounded by all of these retired teachers!

And then on my birthday, Micah took me out to lunch at our fave:  Arby's!

Nothing screams February like...

...falling asleep during the basketball game while wearing flannel.  We loved watching our Zags, again this season!  They made it to the Sweet 16 this year before losing to Florida State.  We had fun "adopting" a player for the game and then seeing who picked the leading scorer from the very beginning.  Josh soon found that this was too stressful, and decided to just watch.  :)  Our favorites to watch were Rui Hachimura, Silas Melson, Josh Perkins, and Killian Tillie...and Johnathan Williams and Zach Norvell Jr...

We enjoyed a night of talent from Jeff's students...our favorites were the drawing videos on fast-forward and the Hamilton-inspired rap battles.

Farm Pick-Up

Friday night, the kids were still at the farm, so Jeff and I dared to show up to Oden's bday WITHOUT his cousins.  :)  It was a fun night celebrating this SIX year old.  Then next day we went to Mr. Jim's funeral and then took off to the farm to get the kids.  Amazing sunsets, crafts from Dad, and cousins sleeping over, using the new headlamps for nighttime reading.

The day before V-day...

...and the morning of V-Day!!!  Snow!  We were caught unaware...look at the amount!!!

Reading headlamps for V-day...and a book filled with Sleeping Jeff pictures!  Jeff thought it was so funny--he even took it to work to show it off.

The kids had a half day at school, b/c of conferences, so G'ma Colleen got them at noon and then Jeff and I took them to G'ma and Papa in Colfax for the hand-off.  The kids got two farm days while school was out for conferences.  We got to Eddie's Chinese before Mom and Dad and the kids almost ate all of the crackers and butter before Papa got there.

YMCA Swim Lessons

This winter we were excited that Nyan was in Micah's lesson!  It was just the two of them and they had a great time!  Josh and Grace were in the same lesson, which helped with the scheduling!  They had a great teacher who had a LOT of energy...

Indian Painted Rock Hike...in February!!!

Jeff took the Van Loch Sickle Heads out to hike on this particular Sunday afternoon while I was at a SS teacher luncheon.  It looks like they might've had a little bit of fun...

Jan-February Birthdays and Dances and Movie Nights

We celebrated January birthdays late and February birthdays early this year...but we weren't complaining!  We love birthday MONTHS...

 And that evening was the Father/Daughter Dance and Mommy/Son Movie Night!  This year Jeff and Grace went to Olive Garden with the gang and the boys and I went to McDonalds and then to see Peter Rabbit.  Angela and the kids joined us at the movie!

Taekwondo Month for Josh

Midway brought Jung Kim's martial arts to their school during the month of January.  Josh stayed after school each Tuesday to get a taste of this Japanese martial arts.  He loved it, and wanted to sign up after their culminating performance.  We loved the experience that Josh had during these weeks.
