Julie had let us borrow her trailer for our Riley Creek trip, so we turned around and took it back to her...only to continue on with her on a camping trip to Salmon le Sac! We'd been wanting to go here with Julz, as we've heard of her family camping here all the time while she was growing up.
We went down to the creek as soon as we got there...Julie limped down on her one good ankle. She was such a trooper going camping on her bum leg!
We played dice games on several nights...and one night Micah slipped and hit his head on the steel stairs of the camper. It was so scary! He got quite a knot right away and was quite queasy. Jeff and I hoped all was okay and kept a close eye on him. Luckily he pulled though and we didn't have to think about locating the nearest Emergency Room.
Our highlight day included a hike "up the road"--Lake Hyas Trail. It was 2 miles up and 2 back, and it crossed water 24 times! Our kids' favorite kind of trail...and Auntie limped along the whole way!!!
