G'ma Joan is the BIG WINNER!!!

My MOTHER called to let us know that the blog pictures on the last entry weren't showing up. My MOTHER. This is the lady who asks Jeff to download her pictures when we come to visit and checks her email via my dad. She fills every ounce of her day doing all sorts of things, and just hasn't found the time to deal with technology...so you can imagine my surprise, hearing my mom ask me to check on the blog! Way to go, G'ma Joan! Of course we fixed it, and because of her vigilant blog support she gets the BIG PRIZE...the homeless Lochheads get to move in with her and Dad for a whole week! :)

Could we PACK any more...

...into June? I am sitting amidst a tornado of packing boxes, wondering what just hit us. :) My downloaded pictures tell a crazy June tale...

My cousin Nathan got married! I have no pictures of the bride and groom (alas!) but have a plethora of our family...it was so fun to have everyone come to Spokane for the festivities--even Ben and his girlfriend Kelly flew in from Anchorage for the weekend!

We sold our house! (hence the boxes stealing focal attention on our carpets...we're moving out this weekend!)

And we bought a new house... (it's so great! We can't wait to move in on July 6!!)

Gracie had her last day of school this week...here she is with her teachers, Miss Jessica and Miss Debra. They took SUCH great care of her! It's so fun for me to see how others are blessed when we share little Grace--they love her so much.

We got to host a baby shower for our friend Rachel--it was such a great time! No belly shot of her, but I'm trying to convince her to turn from the "dark FACEBOOK side" and become a "good BLOGGER guy" so that I can have access to those cute pics! We are so excited to meet Little Girl Edmondson in September (but not on Labor Day weekend--we've made out of town plans...did you hear that, girlie in the womb?)

Other highlights of the month (without pictures to accompany) would have to be...
...getting my classroom boxed up and moved for the second time this year--yay, construction!--but it will be all worth it when I move into a NEW room for the 09-10 school year
...Jeff getting his rehire letter from his school district today! Laid off no longer!
...G'ma Caroline thriving after a surgery that removed one of her kidneys...

And in between, a few relaxing moments...

So I'm thinking that these overflowing moving boxes sitting in the living room could hold some symbolic meaning...(besides the obvious meaning that we need to simplify!!!)...God's love and blessing in our life is always overflowing...sometimes it takes a month like this for our simple minds to be reminded...

Our One Year-Old

My friend Melissa's sister-in-law, Charcie, came to Spokane to take these pictures of Grace at 12 months. We fell in love with them and have been having a hard time choosing which ones are our faves... Here are just a FEW...of our sweet one year-old girl (who just happened to WALK ON HER OWN today for the first time...what a big girl!)

Thanks, Charcie, for some great pictures! Good thing we have the disc--we only have to choose which ones to PRINT!

Facing Forward

Grace is very excited to have her new BIG KID car seat! Facing forward is opening up a whole new world for her!

Thanks for the cute bows, Heather!

This is Gracie's latest trick--whenever anyone leaves the room or whenever she drops something, Grace puts her hands up like this and says, "Wholo?" (which means, "Where'd it go?")

365th Day...

Today was Grace's actual birthDAY--though it's true that we've been celebrating all MONTH--and we celebrated her big day by going to the Mirabou Park with her to see the pond turtles and hike. We also celebrated by purchasing a fun present for Grace through Craigslist: a Bike Trailer! We got a screamin' deal and were so excited to see that she really likes riding in it.

This is Grace saying, "More!" after her first short ride.

Happy Birthday, sweet Gracie Caroline! We love you so much!

Happy Birthday, Gracie!

Gracie's birthday party was last Saturday. We had so many friends and family join us at the park down the street to celebrate her first year. She was such a happy girl and loved all of the attention.

Jeff made her doggie cake--she's completely excited about dogs, so that was her party theme. This cake was so great!

Cousins: Megan, Brooke, Grace, and Abby

Grace is Crawling!!!

Grace was fast to talk, but not so fast to crawl. She hasn't wanted anything to do with it. She just wants to walk around furniture. Now, at 12 months, she is figuring it out...and we are realizing it was worth the wait! She just started this last week and she has us in stitches watching her creative crawl.

Mom's Helper-in-Training

Step to it, Grace!
Plates go on the bottom, bowls and glasses on top.

Yes, it is neat that the bottom rack rolls in and out...
...and in and out...
...and in and out.

Let's see if we can keep the spoons IN the silverware holder... a fun game!
In...OUT!
In...OUT!
Good girl.

Ooh--pound! pound!--a drumstick!
That's a good use for that spoon.
Great idea.

No? You want that spoon on the ground?
Well that's a silly place for a spoon.
I think it wants to go in the dishwasher
with the rest of his friends...

That furrowed brow and still binky
tell me you disagree.
Hmph! Suit yourself...

...Silly Spoon.

Swing, Swing.

Today G'ma Colleen and I took Grace to the park to experience the swing for the first time. As you can see, she's a big fan! She kept humming to herself as G'ma pushed her back and forth. Quite cute.
