Nessa's GOTCHA DAY!

We were very excited to go get our puppy on 4/10!  The drive to Plains, MT, was gorgeous, and I don't think it gets any happier than driving to bring home a puppy...  :)

Nessa and her sister, Ruby, were waiting for us.  Chuck had been picked up earlier that morning, and his family is in CDA.

We didn't have a leash yet--late Chewy order!--but Dora had an extra that she threw in.  We were so happy to take this little fluffer home...

...but on the way out we made sure to stop to see her parents (and to see how big she'd get in the future)!

We stopped along the roadside to see if she had to potty, and then again at a park, but she was a little in shock, we researched and found out later.  Going to a new home is stressful!

We asked for a little blanket to come home with Nessa that smelled like her mom and littermates...and we thought this little Amish quilted pillowcase was perfect!

This is what the truck looked like as soon as we got home with our girl.  I think everyone was a *little* excited to show Ness around the place.

The Eccleshalls were happy to see Ness through the fence.

Nessa soon found the snuggliest place to nap.  Jeff didn't mind.

And the family started showing up to meet our Nessie Monster!  G'ma and Papa came by on their bike, Drew and Annie and the boys came bearing gifts, and the Van Sickles came by to get sweet snuggles.

And it turns out that we got a GREAT sleeping dog--once she was in we put a blanket over the crate and she slept ALL NIGHT on night #1.  I worried that she was dead the next morning and I'd have to break the news to the kids...ha!

Week FOUR of Quarantine--Puppy Nesting Week!

Jeff tried his hand at roasted tomato bread!  It was dreamy.

Jen made Josh a Mad Libs for his birthday.  Lots of parts of speech that revolve around poop.

Our school staffs were busy putting together photo montages to encourage at-home work.

And G'ma Colleen made us all masks!

The week before we got a dog, I decided it was time to paint the accent wall at the top of the stairs.  That Nat'l Park map had been sitting there for over a year--a present for Jeff's bday from the V's.
Lots of help painting, lots of time learning from a screen, lots of outdoor walks in the glorious sunshine!

All of the kids had to try out the dog crate...

Doesn't the accent wall look nice?

We visited Granny out on her porch!

Josh and Grace and Jeff decided to learn Spanish over quarantine, thanks to DuoLingo.
 :)
Here was our 5A class zoom!

Josh got a Mane jersey from G'ma and Papa in the mail.
We had these cuties as part of our quarantine bubble.  We didn't see many people, but the Eccleshalls were impossible to stay away from!
Declan had a birthday so we made him a sign and delivered it!

A pandemic didn't keep spring from coming...I hope that the miracle of spring will always produce AWE in my eyes.
