Summer DIY Project #2--The Deck (part 2)

 

Matt came over to help Jeff create the supports for the addition.  They went on to use the old deck wood to reinforce existing supports.

 

The stairs were the beast of this project.  All sorts of mathematical trouble...

My son, torturing me.

Scott came over to help with the railing.

And Jeff and I put the slats in the railing.

And then there were a MILLION deck screws to put in...

Finished!!!

And PS--during deck building Jeff was making the tough decision of whether to apply for the Mead Alternative job that opened up...what a stressful time!
