Trailer Tasks

Micah is a good duster...Millie Caroline is nine and was such a cute baby...and Ben sent us home with the trailer (with my gate that Dad gave me for SWEET PEAS) so Jeff and I ran a few trailer errands--donating door frames to Habitat, buying pavers for the gate placement and tin for the garden beds that Jeff is going to make...of course, a lunch at Saranac was in order...

Soccer Saturday...in LEWISTON!

Josh's first game was in Lewiston, today!  G'ma Joan came down to watch him play with Lolo, and then we were able to go to Millie's birthday party.  While J's team was warming up, Grace and I walked Nessa to go get a coffee.  I started chatting with a guy in line, and soon realize that he's married to Jeannie Iverson--whose birthday is 3/27! I'd thought of her earlier that day and then I surprised her husband, Troy, by telling him that after I learned who he was.  Funny small town stories, people!

Sharps after the game with Papa Greg!

G'ma and Papa got Josh his favorite jersey (of the moment).

We got to see Papa's new kittens, Carhartt and Cougar.  They are cute little skinny things...they didn't appreciate making Nessa's acquaintance.  Ha, ha.  I've never seen such arched backs!

A mostly-outdoor party for Mills.  Good to see the McPartland crew and celebrate with Mills!

Joshua Scott is ELEVEN.

Josh woke to a new bike!!!  He needed a bigger bike...and his family went in on it with us!

I worked on Joshy's birthday, but got up early to make birthday pancakes!  Delish! This was one of Grace's last Fridays to learn from home.  After spring break the middle and high school kids go back full weeks!

This student keeps putting his pencils on these coat hooks that are conveniently located next to his cubby.  I just had to show Melissa his ingenuity...or laziness?  Ha! Also, below this same student and a friend are rochambo-ing to win the right to find the distance between the sun and...you guessed it, the most popular 5th grade planet: Uranus.

Josh's bike!  At this point in the pandemic, we weren't quite ready to have a vast family party, but since all of the adults had been vaccinated, we invited grandma and papa and the greats to have dinner and cake with us...

It was a fun birthday...a good step better than last year when the lockdown was fresh!  Love to our boy...

Kai Guy Turns 11

I woke up on 3/25 feeling very sentimental about a couple of boys turning eleven. I don't know how this is possible, as yesterday they were in preschool together...  It was so fun looking through these blog pics and sending them on to Heidi, the other mother who feels like 5th birthdays were last week.  So now I have blog pics of blog pics.  Excellent.

Grace made honor roll, just for the record.

My students were lacking self-motivation, so I decided to solve math problems for jelly-beans.  It seemed to be a fun motivator for the day.  Maybe tomorrow they'll feel a little more driven...

Walks.  Sticks. Laughs.

The boys' birthday dinner at Olive Garden was so very fun!!! They were good to give me a grin!
Last pic of Josh at age 10...sniffle, sniffle.

And I sent this pic on to Jeff at work.  With him I got to share these chubby-cheeked kid days...
