Summer Kickoff!
The End of Kindergarten

The first day of kindergarten The last day of kindergarten
On the morning of June 11, 2013, Gracie left the house a kindergartener and came home a 1st…I can't say it yet. :) I told Gracie this and she said, "Mom, I'm not a kindergartener, I'm not a first grader--I'm a SUMMER VACATIONER!"
Now onward to first…give me until August to get used to this one. :)

Kendall Yards Bike Ride
It's so fun to do fun family outings now that Jeff's done with National Boards!!!
(And school's almost out!!!)
The Weber Cousins' Graduation
The youngest cousins, Luke and Levi, graduated from CHS at the beginning of June. And we were so silly to not take any pictures! It was a fun weekend celebrating these two--making shish-ka-bobs with Sheyanna, holding kittens at Luke's house, playing with cousins at Levi's party. Both boys will do well on their next adventure--Levi has a lot of scholarships at WSU and Luke has a scholarship to rodeo for a school in Arizona.
John Hancocks--These Days
I love kid writing.
I want to remember how the kids wrote their names when they were little.
Gracie's signature at age 6.
No extra energy spent on creating perfect letter formation--she just gets the job done. :)
Joshy's signature at age 4.
Love the filled in O.
Colbert Pres VBS
Joshy got to go to 2 of the 3 days of Colbert's VBS in June. It was so nice to have something for him to do when preschool was out. The theme was Beach Party, and Joshy loved the music. We got the CD and listened to the music repeatedly in the car.
There is nothing sweeter than kids singing about Jesus.
33 Helium Balloons
Micah was a great helper when I needed to pick up balloons for LHS seniors. He was all eyes as I stuffed 33 helium balloons into the van with us. Aunt Kelly saw this picture and said this will explain why he has a fear of helium balloons in later years. Jeff helped me deliver the balloons to the HS this year, as Melissa was busy with little newborn, Evie. It was a busy end of the year for me--I missed my teaching partner something fierce!!!
Portland without Kids?
Ahhh, the day after Jeff took his National Boards exam we celebrated FOR REAL by going to Portland for a Decemberists concert. We hadn't left Micah before this trip, so I wasn't sure how I was going to do. Turns out we all did just fine--the kids being spoiled by G'ma and Papa at the farm, and Jeff and I having uninterrupted conversation.
On our way through the Tri Cities we stopped to see Julz in her classroom. Such a fun impromptu visit!
We stopped at Pfreim's Brewery in Hood River for the first best meal of the trip. Delicious food and brews on the patio and the cutest little restroom complete with complimentary diapers for forgetful mommies. Cute enough for a picture--and I was so excited that I didn't have to change a baby here!
When we rolled into town, I texted my cousin Megan, telling her we wished she still lived in this town. She texted back that she was newly engaged!!! Such a fun memory!
And here was the concert venue--Jeff waited in line while I went back to the car to get my ID. Somehow we got into the VIP room before the concert--what?!? they checked our tickets and we blindly went where they told us!--and when I came back to meet Jeff, suddenly band members came into the side bar room and we were talking to the artists.
Colin Meloy, lead singer of the Decemberists. They were holding a benefit concert to expand a school for kids with autism.
Lots...
…of…
…bodies in a small space! And lots of standing. I felt quite old. But great, great music. Even better live!
We continued to eat our way through Portland the next day…here we are at Kearn's Kitchen for breakfast…
Oh, this was not an eating establishment. I love this facility that sells recycled items for creative people. I found a few treasures...
…and here we're eating deliciousness from Salt and Straw…
…por que, no?…
…and Ken's Artisan Pizza. It was such a fun day in Portland to EAT. :) Powell's was in there too, along with accidentally being in town during the Torchlight Parade. SUCH a fun weekend to celebrate being done with a stressful year.

Brothers
One content, one unsure. Or at least focused on the binky re-insertion. Joshy, er, Mr. Incredible wanted to see if he could still fit in the crib. Not for long!
