Back to Work…My Public (School) Awaits

First day back to work.  Pajama Day, lucky me!  Melissa there to help me ease into things.  Micah with G'ma Dianne.  Josh and Grace with G'ma Colleen.  Happy to see my kids again.  Luckily I remembered all of their names!  :)

The longest I'd left Micah since he was born.  We did okay--the night before I cried a little, but the day of, it was go-time.  Dianne says he's the best baby!  I am so happy to pick him up at the end of the work day.

The Melt

We're hoping that this is the last big melt of the season.  March is here…in like a lion, out like a lamb!

PS, this outing was totally worth the wet pants!

Big Kid Quotes…These Days

"Mom, Mom, Moooooooom!" said tugging on my arm probably when I was talking with another adult. "Yes, Josh! What do you need?"  He looks up and asks, "How do you turn four?"  He wants to be prepared!

"Mom, if Judas didn't believe in Jesus, where did he go when he died?"  Great question, Gracie.  She's a thinker.  And my kids are terrified of Judas.  At Christmas time they confused him with Herod.  Usually Judas is the answer when I ask them what their nightmare was about.

Natural Consequences

Love and Logic for babies:  If you claw your head when you sleep, your mother makes you wear a ridiculous looking hat during nap time to thwart your plans.

Poor Micah keeps clawing at his dry scalp while sleeping.  We try to keep his nails trimmed, but we've finally resorted to socks on his hands during sleep.  I did call the doctor, for the record, to make sure this wasn't a sign of something bigger going on…already pulling out hair where there is none?  She assured me that he was probably hands-up in the womb and just doing this for comfort.  Silly neurotic mothers...

Ellie's Birthday WEEK

My last week of maternity leave.  Chocolate PB ice cream.  Bed Head hairspray.  Baby Book for Micah.  Wood Glue.  Dessert with the Van Sickles at Prospectors.  A paper package tied up with string, filled up with some of my favorite things!  Black Nike Zip-up.  New socks.  Sticky Oat Bran Muffin at La Petit Chat.  A date with a sleeping baby at Hobby Lobby.  Two kids getting dressed on my birthday...without being asked.  

Dinner and dessert at Fieldhouse Pizza with the Lochhead clan.  Chocolate mint cake.  Charm necklace.  Pedicure gift card.  My Clinique face lotion.  Kids eating fast so they can return to their video games.  Oden not wanting to stop playing to eat…but he'd take a bite or two on Auntie's lap.

Debbie in town from CA!  Dessert with her and Cassie at Twigs.  Debbie bringing Daniel's Toy Story guys for Joshy.  Gracie's BB game at Sac.  Dutch Love.  All sorts of phone calls, texts, and FB posts sending me birthday wishes.

Weekend visit to the farm.  Potato soup for dinner.  Memorable under-cooked rhubarb pie.  :)  Maurices' clothes.  Mantle decorations.  A new picture for the bathroom.  Incredible outfit for Joshy--found in AZ at a yard sale by G'ma Joan.  Driving home in a snow storm.  Still having three days before I had to go back to work.

Micah's First Bottle

Auntie Cassie came over for dinner and I asked if she'd give Micah his first bottle.  We even tried formula to see if he'd go for it…with me going back to work a week later and all…
