The Monday after Mooberry's Jeff took the day off to have a family adventure. We started the day off at Old European for breakfast and then headed to Bowl and Pitcher for another Lochhead Hike.
The snake was the highlight of the trip. A word added to Josh's vocabulary instantly. :)
Our little monkey hitching a ride...
...and our wilted flower who couldn't make the last few steps to the van.
This picture is really for Papa Greg--he tells the story of a day long ago that he had young Katie and me out picking up rocks in the field and I was "too tired" to pick up another rock. But when he announced it was time to head home on the 4-Wheeler, apparently I found a burst of energy and jumped up front for a ride. "Daddy, I'm too tired!" is a common quote used in Moser conversation that I originated that day long ago in the field. So when I saw Gracie in this pose I couldn't help wondering if this is what my dad was looking at 20-some years ago. Is there a resemblance, Papa Greg?
Oh, and the best part of The Day of Family Adventure, in my mind: Jeff rented a rototiller and dug up the flower (weed) bed in our back yard! I LOVE yard work. Strange-but-true LE fact. I think he did it just for me. :)
