They Love Their Daddy
Gracie and Josh's eyes are wide with excitement when they hear "BEEP!" in our driveway. The sound signals that the Subaru doors are locked, but to the kids, this means: "Daddy's Home!" Like a starting pistol, the car horn announces that it's time to race to the nearest door, locate their dad, and attach themselves to his legs as quickly as possible.
This picture was taken at Audubon Park the day after Mooberry Relays. The Lochhead family survived! Jeff and the other John R. Rogers HS coaches and staff did an excellent job hosting this enormous track meet. I think the final count was 23 schools in attendance this year. I got to help out at the coaches' table all day, and the kids spent a fun day with G'ma Colleen and Papa Scott. After months of planning, the day went off without a hitch, and "there was great rejoicing" as it concluded. :) I think we'll forever see this track meet as the pinnacle of track season; everything after is downhill.
The season is nearing its conclusion: Districts are this weekend at SFCC and then on to Regionals and State! It's been a great season...and soon summer will be in our sights!
