Nels Andrew Lochhead entered the world on the evening of October 2, 2014…
…and Lauren Louise Moser joined us in the wee hours of October 3, 2014!
Annie and Kelly were due only a day apart, and we joked that they would have babies born on the same day. Little did we know, that if not for midnight and a delayed doctor, they may have been!
Nels' birth will always mark a day of Thanksgiving for the Lochhead family. We had gained a sweet "little" (9-lb!) boy, but our joy paused as we found ourselves on the anguishing edge of losing Annie. "Anguishing" doesn't even capture the darkness of those hours. God was so merciful, and after 24 hours of uncertainty, our hearts collapsed with thanksgiving, two-fold. [Never had the words, "Cautiously optimistic" sounded so good!] During those hours, Jeff was at the hospital with Drew and the family, keeping us informed here at home. Cookies and prayers were made during those waiting hours. And now, on this side of a miracle, I'm thinking that cookies--and thankful prayers--will forever be part of this boy's birthday.
