The mountains were calling us! Our first glimpses of Rocky Mountain National Park...
We didn't get an early enough start to be able to park in the parking lot where our desired hike started from, so we ended up parking along the road at an overview, and then we footed it up to the trailhead 1/4 mile up the road.
We wanted to hike up to THE LOCH. For obvious reasons.
Alberta Falls. Met some loyal Sasquatch believers at this point in our hike.
Everyone we met on this hike was wearing hiking boots and was using walking poles. Our tennis shoes did the job okay!
And when we made it, the trail sign was buried in snow!

The AFTER picture!
And being huge fans of Glacier National Park and its Going-to-the-Sun Road, we had to take the road over the park on the way home. Round trip, you know...
Pictures don't capture how VAST these mountains were. And the camera didn't capture HOW HIGH UP we were, or how steep the drop down was...
An amazing overlook right by the highest point of the divide...
And two MOOSE to end our time in the park. What a great day. Sunburns and beer and pizza followed.
