This was the next day, en route to Stanley...our third rest stop! We were getting a little loopy on this 6-hour drive, but at this point we were close!
Sometimes you have to take pictures of the picture-taker...
This is Stanley! Not a whole heck of a lot here, but BEAUTY! The Sawtooths were justly named, we concluded, and the river was right off of our row of family cabins.
The weather was not cooperating. See those skies? See the shivering child? We had packed for 100 degree Utah weather, not chilly mountain air! Soon you'll see Grace and Josh wearing the sweatshirts that G'ma Joan bought them, as their parents overlooked those items! (Above is the wedding site, the day before the wedding. Friends and wedding participants were setting up tents while Jeff and I and Erin entertained children.)
We finally found Stanley Lake! We had to drive a bit, but we made it! The fishermen weren't far behind this "kid" group, and then G'ma Joan and Papa Greg came with the picnic. Just in time to get rained on--we ate in cars!
That night was the rehearsal dinner. The weather still wasn't fully participating, but at least the rain held off.
And this was the wedding day! All of the grown up ladies went to help decorate for the wedding, except for me--Jeff and I took this motley crew for a hike!
Conner said that this was his first time hiking! He was a pro, already! And he intently kept looking for a heart-shaped rock for his G'ma Cindy's collection. We found the perfect one!
And here we are running for the car--see the downpour about to hit us?
Wedding hair! Abby did a very nice job on Gracie's hair--or was it Megan?
Nothing hotter than a HOT husband carrying a baby bottle to a minivan. Ahhh, life is good. :)
Now OFF to a wedding!!! C'mon, rain, stay away!!!
